The Wrong Acupuncture Points

It is dangerous to place needles in certain acupuncture points when a woman is trying to become pregnant, or particularly if she becomes pregnant during the course of treatment. Some of these include the points which are called Stomach 36, Large Intestine 4, and Spleen 6, in addition to any points on the lower abdomen. Stimulating these points can cause miscarriage.

Certain herbs can also cause miscarriage, such as Black Cohosh. This herb is often used by women who want to induce a spontaneous abortion when they suspect they might be pregnant.
